GUNMAN & THE HOLY GHOST is Hákon Aðalsteinsson. The talented frontman is renowned for his versatile work, for example as part of the Berlin based band The Third Sound and Icelandic legends Singapore Sling. After Aðalsteinsson struck camp in his home country and decided to build a new life in Berlin, he needed more than one output for his overflowing creativity. The second album from the Gunman, The Story Of Radiate and Novocaine, was recorded in Berlin between 2014 and 2015. The process moved from the East to the West and took over a year. Songwriters like Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave are underlying influences - wonderful, smooth alt-country songs. The album is first and foremost one thing: misery ballads, which serenade opposites attracting and colliding. Love and separation, inner demons and the surreal aspects of human existence.
Anton Newcombe, frontman of the legendary The Brian Jonestown Massacre, is a huge fan - the two singers know each other from collaboration in other side projects such as Tess Parks as well as Newcombe’s own work with The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
